Minimalism… Do I believe?

Do you believe in minimalism?

Minimalism is a lifestyle and philosophy centered on intentionality. It is the practice of owning only what is essential and removing distractions from life such as excess possessions, toxic commitments, or mindless consumerism. It is the idea of focusing more deeply on your core values, passions, and relationships.

Do I believe in minimalism? I believe it is, in its essence, it is a good and sensible way to live. It is not seen as common or natural i believe, but in its practice lufe is more simplustic in a way, there is more focus on what truly and should matter or be important. Society has a way of pressuring us to have things, do things, and become things that are cluttered with pieces, parts, and ways that take time, money, and even parts of our soul and our joy from us. We don’t see it as it happens, we just follow trends and ideals and live life as we see unfolding.

As I have aged, I have come to realize what is important and what is ahead can be such a blessing if I offload the weight of unnecessary things, people, feelings, and lighten not only my soul, but what I carry… I strive now to lighten life as I go. While I still am surrounded by things and people, I am moving toward living in a more minimalistic environment. The loss of weight in my life is freeing, so yes, I believe minimalism is a good thing, at least for me.
