What’s a book that completely surprised you?

Books… I have a library full, some from the early 1900s, some newer. I used to read much more than I do now. I listen some now, and kindle is handy for bed reading… but I drift off…

Book that surprised me. The Clan of the Cavebear books by Jean Auel. They are so well written, researched, and the descriptive language so wrll written, I feel a part of the time, feel emotion, feel awe at the way of life the Neanderthal and the others lived. It was like being there, watching life evolves and grow.

The book Scarlett by Alexandria Whitley, gave me a second chance to know what happened after the Gone With the Wind novel left off… the description of life in Ireland and the reconnecting of Scarlett and Rhett was good for my ole southern soul…

My only problem with Scarlett was the anti Irish sentiment
