Finding my Zen after “A DAY…”

For me, I come home… I open the gate, I drive my jeep inside, and close it. I am then at my “Wit’s End,” and here, there is no one to bother me further. I am greeted by my big mutt Jake, who loves me and is my gatekeeper, my porch sitter, and my walk buddy. Then I come inside to my two small dogs, and after “I am home hugs and pets,” I settle into my queen chair and gaze into the woods outside my window, watch the birds and squirrels, and find myself letting go… relaxing into life away from the world outside my gates.

I often find my empath heart a bit cloudy and heavy after a day in the world. Solitude and doggie love help me regain my Zen. It’s in these quiet moments, surrounded by furry friends and the gentle rhythm of nature, that I reconnect with myself. The stress melts away, leaving space for peace, gratitude, and a sense of belonging that only home can provide.
