Do you ever spend time daydreaming? I do… Sometimes more time than I should or care to admit. This morning again I perused my poetry Journal. Sharing words seems to be what I want to do today too.

Do you ever wonder just where you’re headed some days,
wondering what will come as you just sit silently and gaze…
Do you think that doing nothing will make everything alright,
and as you go to bed do you pray for a dreamless quiet night…
Do you listen at times as others talk about what is going on
wondering to yourself why they care as on and on they drone…
Do you look about your world and see what others don’t,
A bit in awe at what you have done and pondering what you want…
Do you ever feel so alone there seems to be no one else alive,
and then you sit lost in old memories and smile while you cry…
Do you ever hear the phone ring and dread to see who’s calling
and as you dream you jerk awake and feel as if you were falling…
Do you ever find yourself smiling as you think of the past
and wondering why some things changed, and they didn’t last…
Do you ever wake and lie still for a bit, replaying your dreams,
and wish you could slide back in and live there as life seems…
Do you think sometimes that things are too good to be true,
and wonder what some would think about you if they only knew…
                       Do you, do you ever do it too….
 Spend way too much time daydreaming and escaping being you…
