Rambling on about what words describe my outlook on life…
Some people collect seashells, recipes, or shoes they swear they will wear one day. I collect reminders, quotes, and wise words. My favorite hangs on my wall.
“ Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain.”
I have said it more times than I can count because, truthfully, I have lived it more times than I can count. I am an evolver. My life has always been about change: bad decisions, hard turns, unexpected storms, and those tender little pivots we make when life changes the music without asking permission.
But beside that quote are the words that keep my feet steady: “God is within her, she will not fail. He will help her at the break of day.” Psalm 46:5 And, “Do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.” Isaiah 41:10. They remind me that storms may be inevitable, but fear does not have to lead. Sometimes dancing in the rain simply means refusing to stop moving, refusing to stop growing, and trusting that even drenched, even tired, even unsure, I am still being held. It is what I choose… to dance my way through. I am never alone, even when it feels like I am dancing alone.
So, I keep evolving. I keep dancing. And when the clouds gather, I try to remember… rain is not always the ending. Sometimes, it is where grace learns the steps. Step into the rain and let it wash away your fear, your anxiety… Keep moving, dance until you find the way through.
