Reflecting on Past Choices and Growth…
Looking back on my journey, one of the most impactful decisions I made was stepping out of my comfort zone to pursue a challenging opportunity. For me this happened in 1991, when I had an accident and was told I would never walk again… At the time, I was hesitant and unsure of my abilities, scared to death, a single mother of two, but I chose to embrace the unknown and take on responsibilities that pushed me to learn and adapt, or evolve and push onward as I prefer to say.
This experience taught me valuable lessons about resilience and self-confidence. I discovered that growth often comes from situations that stretch us beyond our limits. By facing challenges head-on, I gained not only new skills but also a deeper understanding of myself and what I am capable of achieving.
That decision continues to inspire me to seek growth, the struggle of independence and disability keeps reminding me that every choice holds the potential to teach us and shape our future. Taking that leap was difficult, but it made all the difference in my life. I am so grateful and blessed that the strength God gave me was and is a deep spring-fed well. I do stupid things, I do too much, and I do too little at times as well. But… I never quit making the decision to keep moving, find a way, and look ahead to see how I can or need to evolve for the next test of life.
