Finding Ways to Thrive Beyond Disability and Just Live Life…

My superpower is that I am an evolver. For the past 36 years, I have lived in a constant state of growth and adaptation. I think outside the box, always searching for creative ways to accomplish what I must, what I need to, and even what I want. When faced with a disability, I don’t see a limitation—only a challenge to be thought through and worked around. Now I did not always know I had this superpower… But I was raised by strong women and men who themselves evolved and conquered life with wit, wisdom, and common sense rooted in a drive to move forward. I see being an evolver as something that has become rarer as the years go by.

Living with a disability is never about giving up. You can choose to sit down and do nothing, or you can find a way to live and do everything you desire. I refuse to quit. No matter the hurdles, I am determined to keep moving forward and evolving, proving that possibilities are everywhere if you’re willing to look for them. I was blessed to be given faith strong enough to believe and hope. I was given a mind strong enough to work out the details even when most see no way.

On another note, the Superpower I wish I had at this point in life is that I could make people see the truth, see through the lies, and just be kind. The world has become such a heavy place, the untruths and lies, the hate and ignorance are debilitating for my soul. Shoot, even an Ole’ Woman needs a dream 😊
