The Essence of a Truly Confident Person…

Rambling on about confidence, the God factor, and overcoming weakness…

Many see a confident person as someone who stands tall, speaks with assurance, and meets challenges with unwavering resolve. Yet, what lies beneath this outward composure is a remarkable inner world, a tapestry woven with both strength and vulnerability, fierceness and humility.

True confidence is not merely a product of self-belief or positive self-image. For many, it is deeply rooted in faith, their unshakable trust in God, the quiet conviction that their worth and their purpose are anchored in something far greater than themselves. This spiritual foundation provides not only the courage to confront adversity but also the humility to recognize one’s own limits and imperfections.

A genuinely confident person possesses a bold spirit, unafraid to speak truth, to stand for what is right, and to inspire others by example. Their strength is not brashness, but a gentle fierceness, an inner power that radiates in moments of pressure or uncertainty. Yet, beneath this strength, there exists a softness, a willingness to admit weakness, to seek help, and to embrace growth through faith and resilience.

It is this paradox that makes their confidence so enduring. They are powerful, not because they are never weak, but because they have learned to draw strength from their vulnerability and to lean on their faith in moments of doubt. Their confidence shines brightly when it is grounded in grace, carrying both the fire of conviction and the warmth of compassion. The person I see as the most confident I know is Dr. Sonya Alise McKenzie, my friend, and a true inspiring force in my life. She is human, she is kind, she is someone who speaks honestly and openly about life and all its hurdles. She knows struggle, and God is her guide. I am blessed to have her in my life.

To truly understand a confident person is to recognize the source of their strength—rooted in faith, shaped by life’s trials, and revealed through the balance of fierceness and tenderness. This is the quiet miracle at the heart of real confidence: the ability to stand strong, yet remain open, humble, and steadfast in hope even when inside they are shaking or unsure. I am seen as a confident person as well. I am, when I stand in God’s grace and mercy. I also struggle but refuse to quit, and God assures me I will be okay. But by sharing my truth, by admitting my weaknesses, and by giving what I can, I feel I am living my purpose. I am confident that is what I am meant to do.
