Rambling on about Embracing Life as an ongoing DIY project…

Of all the projects one can take on in life, it is life itself that stands as the most ambitious—an ever-evolving do-it-yourself journey. My path has taken me through many phases: starting as a young wife, then becoming a mother, and later finding myself navigating the challenges of single motherhood with two sons. Eventually, I became a wife again, this time to a good man, and later faced the journey of widowhood. Each transition brought unique challenges and opportunities, teaching me that there is no perfect blueprint for living. Instead, we must build our own paths, moment by moment, brick by brick.

Life is a continuous process of reinvention. Every stage, whether carefully planned or unexpectedly encountered, requires resourcefulness, resilience, and the courage to adapt. Facing the challenges of single motherhood, I discovered that even the most difficult days could become steppingstones. Raising my two sons on my own revealed strengths I never knew I had and pushed me to approach new roles with openness and flexibility.

Through both struggles and triumphs, I realized that building a meaningful life isn’t about following a set formula. It’s about embracing change and learning along the way. The do-it-yourself spirit is not just for tangible projects, it’s reflected in how we respond to setbacks, celebrate small victories, and find meaning amid chaos. Sometimes, it means letting go of our expectations in order to welcome new possibilities.

The greatest rewards in life come from the courage to start again, the willingness to learn from mistakes, and the determination to keep moving forward. The most powerful lessons are crafted by our own hands, shaped by the choices we make and the love we give. Whether we build alone or alongside others, the journey itself is what makes our story uniquely ours.

As you take on your own DIY project of life, remember… You are the architect, the builder, and the artist. Let your journey be guided not by fear, but by curiosity and hope. The masterpiece you create will be a reflection of your resilience and your capacity to grow—one step at a time, one day at a time. I know my project has taken turns and twists I never saw coming… I do not Google where to go next or how to do this thing called life. Instead, I pray on it, Trust in God, and try to follow where I feel led by Him.
