Rambling on about books, reading, and what inspires and feeds me….

Reading is one of the most relaxing and enriching activities I know. With each turn of the page, I am transported beyond my immediate surroundings into new realms of adventure, wonder, and discovery. A good book can be my passport to distant lands, ancient civilizations, or even worlds that exist only in the imagination of the author.

Through reading, I embark on adventures that span jungles, cities, mountains, and magical kingdoms. I meet characters whose courage, kindness, or cunning leave lasting impressions. Sometimes, I learn about the triumphs and struggles of people whose experiences are vastly different from my own, broadening my understanding of humanity.

Books are also my teachers. They guide me through the intricate tapestry of history, revealing how past events have shaped our present world. They offer lessons about life, its complexities, joys, sorrows, and the eternal dance between good and evil. Whether I’m reading fiction or nonfiction, every book is a source of knowledge and perspective that helps me grow as a person.

What makes reading truly magical is its limitless potential. In one moment, I could be wandering through forests with mythical creatures; in the next, I might be witnessing the bravery of historical figures or pondering philosophical questions about right and wrong. Even if I never physically visit these worlds, reading allows me to experience them in vivid detail.

Ultimately, reading is more than just a hobby—it is an adventure of the mind and soul. It inspires empathy, sparks curiosity, and reminds me that stories, whether real or imagined, have the power to shape who we are and how we see the world.

With all that said… I am Starting on the Lord of the Rings books… was told I really should read it from someone I met. I am reading a new Bible in a Year Book. The Bible is such a dense and overwhelming read, and I am always trying to understand it more. It is a constant read for me. I am also reading Lightning in a Mason Jar by Catherine Mann. I tend to mood read and situation read… For me that means that I read what my soul, my heart, and even my mind needs. Sometimes to change the mood, sometimes out of wonder, and sometimes I reread ole reads that have touched me deeply to remember. I am an English Major who also reads poetry at times. Robert Frost has been an author I have been reading lately. So my reading list is a bit crazy and very varied…and prone to change if I find a new story!
