Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?

Do you play… reminds me of the quote, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy…” why didn’t it say Jill?

Oh well, I have played often in life. As a young lady I loved to dance and play music, I have played cards, word games, and gone on adventure hikes. As I grew I have painted and drawn, taken art classes and ceramics, and refinished furniture and decorated. I grew older still and then began to seek and find flea markets, thrifting, and reselling…. was great fun. I took up plants and gardening and finding new historical places to explore…

Now my playing involves plants, thrifting, and writing… along with sporadic hikes to see nature. Playing with great grand babies and my dogs. In life playing is what breaks the humdrum up it is what gives my ole’ soul a smile and makes life feel less tragic and lonely. Yes, playtime evolves as you grow older, but it’s there, the memories of childish play, the urge to silly, to have fun, to incite laughter and just enjoy life. Yes, I play… if we are truly lucky, we all do.
