Rambling on about the Men who inspired me, impacted me positively in life…
It is hard to choose just ONE MAN who positively impacted my life. I was blessed to have a few of those men. My Dad was one, Dr. John Ellis Jr., who helped me build my life on “The Rock” that has been the sturdiness in my life. My Faith is a reflection of how my father and grandfathers positively impacted me; without that, my life would not be or look the way it does. Of that I am sure. My Grandfathers, J.L. “Pappy” Reeves and John “Pawpaw” Ellis Sr., were men of honor and moral strength. They gave me so much advice, so many tidbits of wisdom that I have carried and used to make my way through life. They have helped me raise my sons through the guidance, love, and wisdom shared with me. When life seems to throw at me things I am unsure of, it is most often then that I hear their words in my heart and my ear, and I know I can go on and do. I watched them walk through life with kindness, empathy, and radiate goodness to those they knew and met. It is those lessons of positive interaction that they gave as example to me that have helped me walk my journey. Even with them all now gone, I walk in their shadow daily, reminded of their help, their love, and whispering thank you’s to them and God for the goodness I see, I feel, and I share… It is because of these three men that I am the woman I am… I am forever grateful for them and for the blessing of having them in my life
