The Yellow Deli in Brunswick..  a hideaway, safe and filled with good vibes…

What is your favorite place to go in your city?

I suppose the fact that my favorite place to go is connected to food tells of my southern roots and my addiction… I found them Yellow Deli a few years ago with friends. It became a place we would gather and connect, regroup, and tell our truths and laugh. The atmosphere there is warm, peaceful, and friendly. It is run by a religious group of people who are old Hebrew and live together in community.  Yes, a cult of sorts. But they offer fresh food, hand grown, cooked, and they do it with no noise or drama. You never have to wonder if there will be ugly people there, no rude waitress, nothing but calm soothing music, a beautifully clean abd decorated zen place, and food that delights.

The inside is hand built, the booths tucked away and private, the perfect place to slide into and feel safe. A veggie burger and homemade soup, fresh baked bread and sweet treats along with teas and matcha 😋…

Never pressure to leave, can sit for hours and have conversations about life, and end it by carrying home a muffin or banana bread for the morning. It is a therapeutic thing, I enjoy the people, their kindness and the escape from the harshness of the world too often seen… I think its time for a Yellow Deli 💛 trip….
