What’s the first impression you want to give people?⁷
I was raised in the South, that fact is very evident when I meet anyone… my accent is heavy, and my smile always bright… my Mama always told me, if you’re going out of the house dress to impress, fix yourself up… my Daddy would say always be polite, speak to people, look rhem in their eyes, be respectful. Both would say… you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
I suppose that stuck or rather intertwined in my being… I greet everyone i lock eyes with, I speak to those who speak to me, and start the conversation more often than not. But honestly, I seem at times to have a bubble by head that says… “Tell me about you, speak to me I’ll listen.”
I choose to give people a warm smile, to help them see kindness, interest in life, to shine in a way they see my Jesus and give them a laugh, a story, or a positive vibe for the ongoing journey… it is just who I am. It makes my heart happy and this is why I still work… it keeps me social, helps me see that there are good people, that life is not always sad or dark.
I feel people’s deeply… their joy, their Jesus, their pain, their hurt and sorrow… it has been my happy, my gift is suppose to want people to see that kindness, a bit of humor, and a reflection of good is still possible. I know that we all go through things, carry the weight of things we dont share, so giving people a reprieve from that, it is what I wish to share. The impression that life is not perfect, but we still can share smiles, kind words, and a laugh… the impression I give comes back to me tenfold, or so I feel. My mama also said you get back what you give… and I do mostly…
