I’m not much of a sports person. I have in my younger years been a Braves fan when baseball was listened to on my Pappy’s radio, and watched wrestling, before it became surreal, on my Pawpaw’s office TV. I used to watch pro football, the Daints were my team. My husband was a fan, so it was because of him I watched, but I enjoyed it years after he passed away.

To be honest, the ridiculous money they make, the attitudes of some, and the controversy that surrounds sports just led me to lose my fascination with it. I do respect the players I see take on humanitarian causes, try to provide a good role model for kids, and do good. But I respect all who choose to try and make decisions to make a difference that will better the world. I believe we make heroes of people who don’t deserve the title too often. Don’t hate me. It’s just truly how I feel….
