What’s the story behind your nickname?

I grew up being called Joni Boney, which was not the case, but it rhymes, and also Joni bologna.  When I grew up to teenager status, CB radios were the rage, my handle was Cadillac Kid. I grew into my driving age driving my Daddy’s Cadillac. The handle stuck for a while and people called me Cadillac.

Truth is, some nicknames are funny and cute, and make you laugh. They come from personality traits or incidents that happen. But at times they are used to hurt others. I was a chubby child, so I had a few that while others thought they were cute, hurt my feelings.

The nicknames I prefer came later, Nay nay, and bionic Naynay after my knee and ankle replacements came.  My husband called me Honey bun, and that made my heart happy. He’s gone now, miss hearing that one. I guess now my nickname is ole’ woman. I’m partial to that one, growing older and wiser, or so I like to think, I take it as a crown.
