Daybreak….

Sitting in the dark before the dawn,
I seem to hear the earth stretch and yawn…
Silence falls about me with an abrupt yielding blow,
as the darkness starts to surrender to the oncoming glow…
Daylight colors the sky in luminescent shades,
as little by little the dark of the night begins to fade…
The soft sound of life fills my ears as it stirs yet again,
as the breaking of day step by step does begin…
The birds flit about and the night creatures scurry,
and the day seems to come on as if in a bit of a hurry…
As I watch the sky suddenly lightens and begins to glow,
and from off in the distance comes an unmistakable crow…
Bit by bit the noise about me grows as on comes the light,
and once more I watch in wonder at a most awe-inspiring sight…
God’s creatures great and small all greet the coming of the day,
and I sit and watch in wonder at the beauty that now comes my way…
