Life is a journey they say, I’m still not sure who “they” are but they are ever-present in the world about us. We hear their whispers and we cache any away the tidbits to draw upon later… I feel life is a collection of moments that are cached away and held on to in the shadows of our minds and the corners of our hearts…

The older I grow, the more often I find myself lost in thought, remembering, and daydreaming of moments that have passed and those that could be possible. I treasure the memories of moments that are cached away. They are oftentimes brought forth when I least expect them. At times they come forth from an encounter with nature, like the redbirds that visit my porch feeder, or the music that softly plays as I sit in the morning waking up into my day.

My life journey has been one of trials and tribulations that have been won over by blessings. While I move slowly and steadily forward in this journey, I have found clarity in it by looking back and seeing the hand of God moments that have nudged me through the moments sent to define and those to detour me. I have faith that sustains me, God is my strength, my ever-present motivator, and my rest.

Today as you sit and think, look back…look for the God moments, the times you can how His grace, mercy, and love carried you. When I do, I find myself looking back through tears with a smile, my favorite emotion… my mantra has become this verse…

“God is within her, she will not fail. God will help her at break of day.” Psalm 46:5
